Why should I register so early?

To make sure you secure registration and lodging at the Carefree Resort before the Convention sells out!

Where will it be held?

At the Carefree Resorts and Villas in Carefree, Arizona. This is about 45 minutes from the Phoenix airport. By going to a unique place like the Carefree we could have the entire resort and all its facilities to ourselves.

Can I bring my kids?

Sure! But please be aware children are not allowed at any DWF Convention function, nor are they allowed in the bar. These are adult events and learning opportunities and are not appropriate for children.

How do I get there?

The best way to get from the airport to DWF 2009 it is by pre-purchasing discounted Super Shuttle coupons through the DWF. Details on price and how to purchase shuttle coupons coming soon.

Can I rent a car?

Sure! Be warned: If you rent at the Phoenix airport they charge 52% tax. If you rent at the Enterprise desk at the Carefree Resort, you will avoid high airport and city taxes on rental cars. They’ve promised to bring extra cars and agents for fast and easy rentals.

What is the room rate for the Carefree?

The Carefree Resort and Villas have three different styles of rooms:

1. Spacious rooms, Attractive, modern, and larger than you’d expect at most resorts, grouped around the main building and close to the meeting spaces and the bar.
2. Sonoran Villa, which also gives you a living room and in some cases, a large outdoor patio.
3. SOLD OUT Deluxe Sonoran Villa, which includes a kitchen, living room, dining room, balconies, laundry facilities, bathroom and powder room.

The resort provides shuttle service to and from anywhere on the property.

Your choice of rooms can be reserved on a first come, first served basis, but you must be registered for the convention before you can reserve a room. When you register for the convention, you will be given a link and a code to register for the hotel.

All three types of rooms, every room is just $149 a day. This rate is available to DWF convention attendees only and is extended from January 9th, 2009 to January 17th, 2009.

What dining facilities are at or near the resort?

The resort has full service dining indoors and out, an internet café with coffee and light food, the bar is very large and food can be served there. It is open until 2am.

There will also be a variety of inexpensive food choices available at DWF 2009.

There are two towns – each a mile away, and we’ll run frequent shuttles. Carefree, and Cave Creek are upscale Southwestern towns with more than 40 restaurants and bars, plus wonderful shopping.

There is also a grocery store, a liquor store, and drugstore near the resort.

What is the charge for in-room internet?

Zero dollars. Nada. It’s free at Carefree. They’ve waived the resort fee for you, too!

Will there be a keynote reception? Special luncheon? DWF party? Mentor sessions? Free passes and free transportation to the ImagingUSA trade show? Other special presentations?

Anything new this year?

John Michael Cooper (altf) and the Let There Be Light Presentation. For the first time ever, a seminar on lighting held at night, outdoors, showing you exactly how to achieve the effects you are looking for. And some you haven’t even thought of yet!

Also for the first time ever, Spotlight Classes: the DWF introduces half day and full day, intensive, hands on workshops, taught by our industry’s greatest talents and business people. These will be held Thursday, January 15th and there will be a small additional charge. Is that all? Well, no. We have to save some surprises for the coming months!

Who are the speakers?

DWF Convention 2009 begins with a remarkable Keynote Presentation from the speaker who left hundreds of 2008 attendees in tears: David A. Williams.

The convention will feature presentations by well-respected and well-known experts who will present both general, and advanced-track seminars. DWF Convention seminars are recognized through the industry for their focus on learning, rather than serving as lengthy infomercials for speaker products.

What is the cost for registration?

Registration is only $495!

Will I have other expenses?

The DWF Luncheon will be back, and those tickets will cost an extra $50. The speakers will be confirmed shortly. You can certainly bring your spouse to the DWF Party. The price will be an additional $50. If you choose to rent a golf cart, it’s $10/day. There will be an additional charge for DWF Spotlight classes. We will also be offering an additional side trip on Thursday, the day after the convention’s conclusion. More details on that soon.

What if I have to cancel?

In the event you have to cancel a paid registration, here is the schedule of registration refunds:
Cancellation 90 days or more before the beginning of the convention, 90% refund
Cancellation 60-90 days before the beginning of the convention, 75% refund
Cancellation 30-60 days before the beginning of the convention 50% refund
Cancellation 15-30 days before the convention 25%
