Jeff Caplan
Founder
|
Jeff Caplan founded the DWF in April 2000, back when pro digital slr cameras weighed 12 pounds and squeezed out 2 megapixel images. For 3-and-a-half years, he ran the DWF as a free website as a way of giving back to the many photographers who helped him along in his own wedding photography career.
Before the DWF became a fulltime project, Jeff hosted a morning radio show on WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York City with a daily audience of 2-million listeners. When he's not traveling to meet with DWF members at get togethers, you'll find him at DWF Headquarters a stone's throw from midtown-Manhattan.

One of the first things people notice about Ulysses Ashton is his broad smile. It's genuine, as is his broad sense of humor and real concern for people.
Some have likened him to a "diplomat" when it comes to his moderating style, which results from his sincere belief that every member of the DWF has something of value to offer. As active as he seems to be on these forums, he has even more going on in his life and in his business outside the DWF. Married to the beautiful Jenni for 17 years, they have been photographing as a team since 2003, although he had been photographing for many years before that. Their combined style is subtle, multi-layered, earnest and honest. It is a style that draws his clients in and attracts people from all over the world.
Ulysses has this to say, "I absolutely love photography and the way it enriches both my life and the lives of others around me."

Dina Douglass runs the DWF Logic Smackdown, and will happily out-logic anyone who wishes. She routinely freaks out about spelling and grammatical errors, and admits to a penchant for mentally red-lining user posts and Time magazine.
Her art background includes serving in photographic and writing roles for various publications, including four years as managing editor of an off-road racing magazine; fronting an alternative band; and photographically documenting the early 80s punk rock scene.
Her business background includes six years at Arthur Andersen, where she spent three years as proposal manager for a 1200-person office, and three years as global knowledge manager for the firm’s $2.3 billion Manufacturing Industry practice. She left Andersen to join the Silicon Valley startup revolution, where she served as senior director of knowledge management at Asera (an e-business platform company) and SRI International (where Doug Engelbart invented the mouse and the world’s first word processing technology). She also led the marketing, branding and technical publications teams for an SRI spin-off focused on venture consulting and speech recognition technology.
By the end of August 2007, Dina will have visited more than 20 countries.

Gill Taylor was born in Ireland, but has been living in England for he last 12 years. She gained a recognised photography qualification in 2003, before second shooting weddings with some pro photographers around the UK, this being where she gained the majority of her experience. She started her own photography business in November 05. Having held a variety of jobs, from IT Consultant to Programme Management, Gill shook off the corporate shackles in 2007 to take her photography business full time.
Gill does have time for some other interests (yes, really) which include, in no particular order, her cats, her 650cc motorcycle, music and DIY but her first love is, of course, photography.
