WCBS and NJ.com are both reporting that a final punishment judgement has been issued in the much talked about Celebration studio case.

Along with a $1.8 million civil fine, Chester-based Celebration Studios and its principal, Marc Schwartz, also were ordered to pay $855,618 in restitution and $383,685 in reimbursement of state attorney fees and investigative costs, according to a “final judgment of default and order” Superior Court Judge Catherine Langlois issued July 17 in Morris County.

Long time DWFers will remember, this is the NJ, NY, PA company that closed their doors and refused to distrubute images for weddings they had completed leaving over 3,000 couples in the lurch!

…the first of nearly 3,600 couples were united with keepsakes that had been locked away since the once-upscale photo firm went out of business in January 2008. About 100 couples from across the state, as well as several from New York and Pennsylvania, lined up at the Consumer Affairs office in Newark to retrieve their photographs and video footage. -nj.com

I say good luck getting blood from a stone as far as the money goes but here’s to hoping that everyone gets their photos. Couples who have yet to receive their photos or video from Celebration studios can email NJ! wedding.photos@dca.lps.state.nj.us
