Just passed through my RSS feed. Dave Cross, Photoshop Guru and Photoshop Guy, just referenced one of the stories here on DWF. How cool is that? That’s almost like the time where Scott Kelby sent me that email saying that legally I wasn’t allowed within 500 ft of him and to stop calling him at home at three in the morning.
Anyway. Dave mentioned this story, as a lead in to his own encounter with law enforcement. In his case, it went radically different, though.
…the officer says, “What are you taking pictures of?”. As my mind races, thinking about those harassment stories, I find myself becoming defensive saying ”Nothing Really. Just looking for interesting things to photograph. Haven’t taken many photos actually”. He gets closer and after a brief pause he says, “Well you might want to check out City Hall – it has won awards for architecture and it’s a really interesting spot to photograph.”
You can check out how the story ends over at Dave’s blog.

And how was your trip to the twilight zone?
But really, I am an outspoken advocate for photographers rights, but even I realize that there are just as many (if not more) officers out there who are officers because they want to make a difference and are happy to interact with the public at large in a friendly manner, nice to see one of these stories once in a while.
