Now that Facebook has added the vanity plate to it’s offerings, you need to make sure someone doesn’t grab yours before you do.

Carolyn E. Wright of photoattorney.com gives great advice on making sure you get what’s yours. Register your trademark and making a filing with Facebook will allow you to prevent others from using the vanity url you want.  The vanity url you have a right to use. 

Carolyn warns that if you have an UNregistered trademark, lotsa luck.  You can only protect a REGISTERED trademark from usage by others.  So get on it.  Follow her advice, register your trademark, and protect your brand. Hurry:  There might be some urchin out there filling out the Facebook form and swiping your name, this very minute.
