SmallHD has begun taking preorders for their mini HD monitors designed to be perched atop your HD DSLR. Their site claims that it’s the smallest HD monitor known to man and while I love the idea I hate the price. Especially for a use where standard definition would suffice so long as the colors are accurate. I speak from experience, coming from a professional video background where half my career was shot looking at black and white viewfinders that were dismal but we somehow managed to bring home some great stuff none the less.
What do you guys think? Is it worth $899-1199 to have an HD monitor on top of your camera’s hotshoe?
