Silicon Power who? A relatively obscure company from the land of memory (aka Taiwan) has announced a new line of 600X Professional compact flash cards targeted at professional photographers that will come in 16 and 32GB flavors boasting:
- A lifetime warranty which while it won’t get your lost images back it will get you a new card.
- ECC (error code correction) good ole fashioned detect and fix errors tech.
- “wear leveling” technology a vague reference to something that claims extend the card and sounds like a marketing buzz word.
- Read speeds of 90MB/s
- Write speeds of 80MB/s
I was unable to locate a MSRP for the card but let’s hope that it’s cheaper than the lastest Sandisk offering we told you all about yesterday which rolled in at an insane $811 for a 600x 64GB card.

Wear leveling is a real thing. It’s used with SSD drives to make sure that data is being written evenly to all the parts of the drive.
