The Sport Shields by AquaTech are really a camera raincoat at heart. A way for you to shoot in conditions where even a Pro body with sealed lenses might fail. Having done my time in the photojournalist news trenches I can tell you just how important a cover like this can be. My personal record was (4) $30,000+ pro video cameras sent to the engineering department in one day due to water infiltration. Stupid hurricanes!
The Sport Shields feature:
- 3-ply breathable waterproof fabric
- Three windows for viewing top LCD and main LCD screens
- 3 zipper design allows adjustable access to tripod mount and lens
- Custom flaps offer additional protection
- Drawstring secures around wrist to keep out water
- Requires AquaTech Eyepiece (sold separately)
They also have some pretty nifty accessories such as flash covers and housings. I was able to see a shield on a camera while at PhotoPlus Expo in NYC this past month and I have to say that I was instantly impressed and I consider AquaTech to be worthy of a place in my camera bag. I could have used one of these at a few outdoor weddings I’ve shot over the years.

oooh, looks good, i could do with one of those with the wet winter months coming up.
damn you for ‘making’ me spend more money; that looks perfect for rain.
So I am looking at this article and before I click the link I am trying to guess the price. I was in the garment industry for almost ten years so I know prices of things made out of cloth (of all kinds)and I thought that if it was something sold to the average person (non-photography related) it would be about $19.00 or $25.00. However since it is for photographers it would be triple $75.00.
I was on the floor laughing when seeing the shameful and ridiculous price of $150 BUCKS (!!!). Are you kidding me??
And if you, God forbid, wanted the attachment for a flash then it is extra of course.
Unbelievable…
