Allana Taranto earned her Masters in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art, and holds a Bachelors degree in Photography and Media Studies from Hampshire College. She spent several years teaching studio art in the Boston Public Schools. In Holyoke, Massachusetts, she worked as program director for Positive Development, an after school photography program for at-risk youth. Allana also was a teaching artist through the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, The San Diego Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. She created and implemented exhibition-based curriculum used in public schools in San Diego. In 2006 and 2007, Allana was a California Arts Council Grant recipient. Allana's wedding photography has been published in Destination I Do, Exquisite Weddings, Palm Springs Life, Vintage Indie, So Your Engayged and The Knot. Ars Magna is house at AD Hoc Boston, a creative co-working studio for professionals to work, collaborate, and host community events.

The name ‘Ars Magna’ is a nod to my six years at Boston Latin School, where I translated various war diaries and epic poems of love .

For the verbivores among you, Ars Magna is also an anagram of anagrams.
