We all know that Barbie has some ridiculous curves for piece of flesh colored plastic. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t make for a pretty awesome boudoir test shot dummy. Critsey Rowe released a special session that is sure to make Ken blush…
Some shots are with natural light and some shots are with video light. These were the best poses I could do considering my client’s inflexibility. She was very stiff but seemed to loosen up toward the end of the shoot.
I say it’s a pretty awesome “Safe for Work” posing guide way to go Critsey. BTW, is it wrong to say that Barbie is looking HOT for girl who just turned 50?

Well done Mark, this is a great post and very helpful. I’m back on board with the DWF Blog
OMG this is hilarious.
This is awesome and hilarious all in one! What creativity (and great posing!).
This is great!!!
Critsey does miracles on those 50+ girls. Barbie’s still hot @ 50 but Critsey turns gold into sparkling diamonds!
Critsey where on earth do you get sexy Barbie undies?
Nothing against Mark with these charming images, but fine art photographers have been shooting barbie for years. Its nothing new and pretty much been beaten to death.
Mark – Ebay has a nice selection of barbie undies, if your looking! ; )
To Allen:
First of all – what has Mark to do with those?
Second: Why do you bother being a photographer? It’s all been done and nothing’s new.
What is your comment all about?!
Nothing wrong with trying things out for yourself no matter how many times it may have been done.
It’s about having fun, challenging yourself, and learning as you go.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting a laugh out of these shots. Very creatively executed!
I”m not surprised by your response to my comments Thomas and for the record I totally agree with what Angela has written. I’m merely stating a different perspective, I’m sure Mark can appreciate that. No need to get defensive.
Maybe you can sell this soft core Barbie porn to Playboy! I’m not sure why DWF is pushing this soft-core porn disguised as Boudoir. I joined DWF for the Wedding photography, not “Boudoir”. DWF should be ashamed of itself for creating a category for Boudoir and pushing this soft core porn. Just telling it like it really it. Let’s take our blinders off, even if it does bring in extra income.
I am sickly in love with this shoot! I think is awesome how you can make barbies look so good! Who cares if it has been done before! It has all been done before! I think it matters more that people are actually out there shooting things period. It might be soft core, but it is beautifully executed.
Boudoir photography is an outlet for people and photographers to explore sexuality and light! Why not do it while the trend is going on? I haven’t had the chance yet and I am dying for a bride to want to try. I really don’t know how males could be doing boudoir shoots because I see that in a whole different light, but two girls having fun taking pictures definitely isn’t porn. For some reason it turns into porn when guys photograph it or view it. Maybe the boudoir trend isn’t meant for males, but it sure is an awesome add on for brides!

This is really nice, amazing doll, thanks for sharing, anyway I just want to share website I found from the internet http://www.ThatsMyFace.com/f/custom_doll_head that can create a super-realistic doll heads of anyone from just a photo. Imagine making doll of yourself, your kids, your boss or your favorite celebrity!
Apparently they can make the heads in many scales to fit Barbie-like dolls, Tonner dolls or even smaller figurines like Polly Pocket.
What do you think? Isn’t it interesting?
