I've worked for high end studios that start at 7g's, I've worked for the pros, I've worked for Bella. I assisted someone for 4 years, I shot weddings with a 500 c/m for 3 years, I was in at the beginning of the digital revolution. I have absolutely no interest in running a "business" at this time in my life. I am a stay at home dad of 3 kids. I get paid the same from Bella as I do from Studio blue as I do sub-contracting for a mom & pop. The best part of it? I NEVER have to deal with or look at these people again. I just get paid. I know I'm just as good as 90% of photographers who operate bricks and mortar studios. So what if I just want to shoot and not deal with all the bull? This is the future, the future is now, the medium sized dinosaurs were the first to die, the largest ate carrion and the little ones became crocs. I'm a croc.

Unfortunately the wedding photography profession has been relegated to a sub par low esteem profession. This was something that was predicted five years ago and now it is here.

With the current economy, brides are having smaller and less expensive weddings and sacrificing quality in all areas.

Any wedding photographer who fails to adjust to the new wave, will be left in the lurch. If you are a high end shooter, your client base will be easier to maintain. For all others it's dog eat dog.

Low entry points due to cheap and easy digital has created this monster and it's here to stay. Yes digital has given control to the photographer, but it has allowed amateurs to enter into the profession and lower it's reputation among the public. The lines have been blurred.
