We have all heard talk about branding. You may have engaged in discussions on the DWF about a logo vs a brand. Are they the same or are they different?

A brand is defined as a collection of verbal attributes and concrete symbols (name, logo, tagline and design scheme) that define the essence of a company, product, or service. It is your visuals, your logo, fonts, and color scheme. It is also the experience your customers receive; your photographic style, your ideas and your personality. Finally, it is all the recognizable elements of your product or service that defines your company and differentiates you from your competition.

Your logo, while it is important is just one piece in your branding puzzle. A logo on it’s own can help you stand out from your competition, but without the color palette, and vocabulary and well edited portfolio to support it, a logo can feel like a little mark in nomads land.

The following is a collection of photographers who stay true to their brands. Cohesive, well thought out, and there are those letterpress business cards…but that is for another post.
