In the “mixed blessing” category, a recent report has come out saying that fewer Canadian marriages are ending in divorce.

While nobody really wants to see one of their brides for a second wedding shoot, it does mean that there are fewer second weddings happening. So is this good news or bad news for Canadian wedding photographers?

I think it is because less people are getting married in the first place – not that people are learning how to tolerate each other and stay together.
It’s all conjecture of course but I don’t think there is any correlation at this point.
Hey Loring:
I’d agree with you, but the article says that a lower percentage of total weddings are winding up in divorce, 38%, down from a high of nearly 50%. So maybe its a mix of both; only the people who are really committed to this marriage thing are going to go through the hassle of getting married, so stay married longer.
I agree absolutely. Less people (percentage wise) – ie only those that are more committed to it in the first place are bothering to get married and therefore less likely to divorce.
