CTV says that in an annual report to Parliament, the privacy commissioner warns that overly open sharing on social networking sites is causing people to lose jobs and academic opportunities.

You may remember our earlier article “Facebook Violates Privacy Laws” in which the commissioner had identified 4 key areas where Facebook was in violation of Canadian law.
What’s really amazing is that according to CTV there have only been 422 complaints in 2008 and just 350 complaints in 2007. Hardly a number that warrants the attention of the national privacy czar don’t you agree?

I for one am kinda glad that there was no such thing as Facebook when I was in college. Or camera phones, or digital photography etc etc etc…
