Cheaper Macbook Almost Here

The mac fanboy rumor mill is chugging along spitting out words like cheaper and low-cost.

Cnet is speculating as to what this new macbook might actually be. Will it be sub $1000? I sure hope so. Will it be thinner and lighter? I sure hope so. Will it be underpowered? I hope not…!

The author Brooke Crothers goes as far as to say…

It would be a surprise if Apple went as low as $800. Now that’s a cheap MacBook.

I’m not about to cross my fingers or hold my breath just yet but as the article points out. Mac laptops have been slowly dropping in price already. What do you think? Will we see a new sub $1000 mac in the next few weeks?

Forget the Macbooks, some of us who want areal powerhouse for the proc-intensive work we do are waiting on the next MacPro announcement. Maybe we’ll see the new 22nm procs in the real work horses by mid next year.
