Pocket lint is reporting that Apple has been contacting iPhone users with a short list of 11 questions regarding their phone settings. The boys from Cupertino are also asking users to install a special app.
Users are also being asked to install a bit of software that enables battery life logging on the phone, which are then sent back to Apple when the user syncs their handset. Apple has recommended that users don’t go more than a couple of days without syncing thanks to the size of these files. – pocket lint
I must say that recently I have noticed some shorter than normal battery life from my 3G (which is only about a month old) but didn’t really associate it with the timeframe of the update. Has your iPhone battery been sucking wind since the 3.1 update?

My first iPhone is the 3GS and I’m NOT impressed with battery life at all. Generally can’t make it through a day…
I don’t have the 3GS so I can’t comment but it was a problem with the 2G for sure. The 3G seemed to have fixed it. Some tips, turn off wifi if you’re not using it, turn off location services if you’re not using it, turn off bluetooth if you’re not using it.
Mine lasts all day including tethering for ~ 1 hr…
Don’t do much video though.
Yes!! Lately it has been awful. I used to only charge it once every few days. Now halfway through the day I find the battery is half used. I definitely think the new update has caused it.
If you want to significantly increase battery life on you Iphone make sure you turn off 3G. You will lose some speed while browsing the net or checking emails compared with having 3G enabled but you will see a noticeable improvement in battery life.
Since the 3.1 software update, my 3G battery life has been greatly reduced, about 1/3 what it was before.
