Our article earlier this week highlighted the gScreen spacebook 2009 dual screen laptop which will supposedly land in online stores by the end of the year.
Until now the spacebook was rumored to be vaporware but a series of photos have begun to popup around the blogosphere showing what appears to be a gScreen prototype that have left bloggers and even us saying “It’s real, it’s real!”.
Insert conspiracy theory here, these leaked photos or anything resembling them are mysteriously missing from the gScreen site itself. The photos they do have on their blog have that really clever fake feel and don’t get me started on a laptop manufacturer using blogspot to host their blog. If it looks like a fish and smells like a fish.. But I’ll let you guys judge for yourself.
Fuzzy internet fake photo or not? If it’s not a fake I hope I’m not overstepping my blogger boundaries by offering advice to the gscreen team.

Gizmodo and a few other blogs are sharing the “newly leaked” photos ( see one below and more over at Gizmodo) and as you can see they taken on some strange homemade studio that screams “I sell stuff on eBay!”.

They are promising us a video via youtube in the coming weeks so only time will tell if this really is an elaborite vaporware fake or not.
In approximately 3-4 weeks we will publish demo-video of our gScreen laptop BETA models on Youtube.com.
While the idea has merit and as a professional photographer I can see the appeal. I’m just skeptical until I see a real video or a real unit in front of me. Or perhaps I’m just overthinking it. What do you think?

I’ve always wanted to have a dual display – but never got around to setting it up.. From a designers perspective it does seem that I’ll be great help in having all your tools and designing screen so well spaced out – Leaves a lot more room to concentrate on what you are doing and avoid all that ugly cluttering of tools…
