Early Bird Registration Now Open

I’ll save you all the BS marketing speak (you can read that on the DWF 2011 Convention website anyway) and I’m going to shoot from the hip here. This year we organized the convention based upon the requests of the DWF community. We asked the members who they wanted to see and then we went out and gathered 15 marvelous speakers from their wish list. This is as grass roots as a professional photography convention will ever be.

Here are my highlights: (Apologies to any marketing people who might read this)

  • Smaller classes (awesome) with the speakers people want to hear.
  • Our convention hotel is 2 blocks via the Riverwalk to the ImagingUSA trade show (you get an expo pass).
  • Our room rate is even cheaper than the PPA rates for that week and the hotel is ranked #1 in San Antonio by Expedia.
  • Heated swimming pool in January!
  • Opportunities for community organized events built in. Read shootouts!
  • Being on the Riverwalk means no cabs or long walks necessary to reach a kick butt restaurant / bar (the bars in San Antonio are awesome)
  • Simply Color Lab is our main sponsor and they are lining up some cool freebies like a Custom Framed fine art print (value $150) for early registration.
  • Registration is open to anyone (not just DWF Pro members) and it’s $100 off now for Early Birds.
