Bride.ca, one of Canada’s leading wedding portals, has just picked their top 17 (?) wedding photographs of the year, and Digital Wedding Forum Photographers have put in a good showing.
Mark Pawlyszyn, a DWF mentor out of Lethbridge, Alberta, was awarded one of the top spots for the image above. Says Mark: “I met the couple in the winning image when I was looking for a wedding dress. Not for myself; for a bridal fashion shoot in B.C. The bride, Caitlin, works in Ten Fashions Bridal Boutique and when one of my models didn’t show I asked her to fill in. She brought along her fianceé, Kelowna DJ Dan Freeman, and so my fashion shoot turned into a real engagement session for them. Because they are an actual couple they brought great energy and true emotional connection to the shoot. Their wedding is in 2010 and will be awesome.”
Jeff Andrews, a photographer out of Abbotsford, BC won for this picture of a couple log rolling in full wedding regalia.

Other DWF Winners include Scott Johnson, Eric Daigle, As I See It Photography, Lew DSouza at Engaging Image, Jasser Abu-Giemi and Bond Freyer. Check out all the winners at Bride.ca.

I’m not on the forums but I RSS the blog. The photog I work with shot the picture with the dog licking the bride. Go Canada!
I made the list too!….guess they let anyone in!
Whoops. Missed you. Added.
Regarding the Top-17 thing: we were going for top-20 but, simply put, those 17 were in a league of their own.. so we just stopped there.
(There were 5 judges. To make the final cut you had to have been selected by at least three of them)
Cheers!
Ah. It just seemed an odd number. I mean, a top ten list? Sure. Top 12, make it an even dozen, why not? Top 13? If you’re a baker, maybe. Top 17? Where’d that come from….?
