You gotta love the Discovery Channel. In this video they are making television lenses but the process should be similar for just about every lens out there. No wonder the damn things are so expensive!

If we had the Discovery Channel at home, I’d never get any work done. I love this stuff. Are all pro-level lenses handmade like that? If so, and with $1K/kg for optical glass, no wonder they cost so much.
