The other day we mentioned that our mad South African had built a remote trigger for his camera using a hacked motion sensor.
Not to be outdone, Haje Jan Kamps has posted a how to over at Photocritic.org on how to trigger your camera with a … wait for it … with a laser.
The parts needed for such a project are a little specialized, and there isn’t a complete list on the blog, but how cool would it be to have a laser-guided camera? I’m sure you could find some use for it….
This is not the first tutorial on how to build a laser trigger for your camera, but the first one that I’ve come across. If you are thinking about doing this project, a quick visit to Google will net you some more examples.
While most of the work happens outside your camera, do note that these sort of projects may or may not cause your D3 to explode. Or more likely, just stop working because you fried your electronics. So, do be careful.
