Bing, not content with their Twitter announcement, and perhaps in an effort to one up Google has dropped another bomb on the Social Media world. Microsoft’s latest version of the Search Engine will soon include the public facing pages of Facebook in their search results.
This is a Bing exclusive and so far Google (the engine we all care about) has not announced that they will be doing the same. So what does this mean? Who knows at this point but…
Experts expect that Bing will just be serving status updates but won’t be caching them. This means the data will be available for only a short period of time. – SearchCowboys
It might mean, that all you hold outs should probably fire up Facebook and start sharing because it’s only a matter of time until Google opens their doors to Facebook as well.
It might also mean that those of us who are currently using Facebook should look at our publishing settings. With much of Facebook being “private” and with only the “public” facing portions being used by the search engines we may wish to rethink privacy settings with the SEO potential in mind.
Will you be opening up your Facebook page in hopes of better SEO?

I really haven’t given bing a hard look, but I could see how they will need something special to get people to switch from Google.
Currently if you search for something, you ‘google it’- with bing do you ‘bing’ it?
