Hey people, here is your chance to get your photo on CNN. Then you can tell everyone you are a published photographer, and make everyone drool over your work.
CNN is doing a travel snapshot gallery of the world. They ask for large horizontal digital versions of your photos. Doesn’t look like they are paying any cash, but it could be a chance to open your creativity. Besides wedding season is over for most people. So get your cameras check out what section of the world they want and hop to it. Next week is Norway!

That’s right, become the uncle bob of travel photography and photojournalism by giving away your work for free!
I can’t believe DWF would post this blog, when 99% of it’s members get upset with people who shoot weddings for free or low cost.
Boo!!
“Doesn’t look like they are paying any cash, but it could be a chance to open your creativity. Besides wedding season is over for most people”… what are you doing? you’ve finished your wedding pics, so you think its cool to ‘get work published’ for free, cos its only travel photography… no wonder the world of photography is looking at a downward spiral in prices…. THINK before you advertise this sort of stuff… this is ‘vanity’ publishing at bgest, and you shouldnt be giving it airtime…
It’s a kick in the teeth to your brethren who are doing editorial work. And, if it gets any worse for editorial shooters, they’ll give up editorial and throw up a single to shoot weddings. Actually had an editorial shooter tell me last night that shooting weddings was “a no brainer.”
So, yeh, go ahead, pee in your own pool.
wow! DWF just lost a lot of credibility!!!! any contest/submission for a company wanting to fill its pages with content for free (including worst one Grace Ormond) are shameful and should be avoided at all cost. Why help them make millions off your free work if it is good enough to be published it is good enough to be bought. And for DWF to promote the downward spiral of this practice.
Who is deciding what to post here a newbe?
I would rather go to do some stock photography, get published and get paid. I do not play micro stock game, have rather small collection and published literally all over the world.
I’ve got to agree with the above comments. I still shoot for newspapers and magazines and compete with “wow you are going to publish my photos, sure you can use them” all the time.
Its been said before but don’t let your photos be used for free especially by CNN.
