The photographer and craftsman Todd Schellinger asked me to design some metal business cards for his studio Hand + Eye. He gave me pretty broad creative license, asking only that it speak to the tradition of craftsmanship that he brings to each job.
This is one of the most creative business cards I have ever seen designed for a photographer. Proof that when a card becomes something more than a just a “piece of paper” it becomes something memorable. Visit Ehrich Blackhound’s blog to read more about this cool little marketing gimmic. Don’t forget the DWF Marketing & Sales forum is full of business card ideas.

Damn, my name is FINGER, I’d love to get something like this for me.
Peter he goes to into a good bit of detail on how the card was made even saying where. I think they priced out a little over $1 per card with setup and without design fee. (he does mention that price went up though)
Any idea if we can get these in the UK?
In the article they mention just about any decent metal fabricator would be capable of creating something like this.
I’m looking at the web site now. $1.90 each + $100 first time setup from the company who made these. 100 is their minimum order.
Russell, try http://www.plasmadesign.co.uk, they are cool.
Very cool. The price per card seemed to almost doubled. But still, not a price to stand out among other wedding photographers and such. Thanks for the link.
