For many wedding photographers, the economy is the pin in their balloon, but better times are coming. Not because of economic recovery, but because of volume.
On Wednesday, May 20, The Washington Post held an online question and answer forum. Rieva Lesonsky, the CEO of GrowBiz Media and former editor of Entrepreneur magazine fielded questions about business and entreprenuership. Answering questions about starting a wedding photography business, Lesonsky said now is a great time.
Why?
Look at the statistics. Lesonsky said, “The echo boom, started in 1987 (meaning 4 million kids were born tha year) and we’ve been at, or near that number ever since. The average age women get married in the US is 25, so we’re only 3 years away from the start of a wedding boom.”
It isn’t great news for struggling businesses now, it gives hope to those who can power through these lean times, and in this economy, hope is it’s own currency.
