The NY Daily News is reporting that Hawaii’s Governor, Linda Lingle has vetoed a “controversial” civil union bill on Tuesday. Just another in a long line of states who have stepped up to block rights for same-sex couples. Not sure what I’m talking about? Given the current state of affairs in our industry (see our forum post on the double dip recession)  I can’t help but remember this Forbes article on the topic discussing the potential windfall for the wedding industry if gay unions/marriage were to be made legal. Let’s just say the number that was predicted was over $9.5 billion in additional revenue entering the wedding vendor industry.
