Here is an image from a wedding I shot in Kyoto, Japan, at a location called the Monolith.

In order to create this effect, I build a grid of layer masks in Photoshop. Here I have used my software (Fundy Album Builder) but you can easily do it manually. Then I have merged the masks together using merge layers in Photoshop. Again I used my software, but you can do this easily in Photoshop. Simply select all of the layers, choose “Load Selection” and merge the layers together.

Then I insert one image into the entire group of masks. The final result gives a “window pane” look on the image. I don’t do this often, and it is not for every client. But for this client, it worked perfectly, and they loved it.
