Yup… those really are Rush Limbaugh’s wedding photos as taken by wedding photographer Donna Newman. Not content with the comedy that is Rush Limbaugh’s everyday life, Vanity Fair takes us on an imaginary trip into the wedding photographers mind as they snapped away.
Donna I sympathize with you, had they been photos of anyone other than Rush nobody would be poking fun at your pictures at all. It just too bad that Vanity Fair didn’t have someone with an actual sense of humor write the article. Their jokes are kinda lame IMHO.
When you’re done with the Vanity Fair dreck do check out Donna’s site. Her work is wonderful.

I sympathize with everyone but Vanity Fair here. Donna’s photography is lovely and regardless of what we may think about Rush, it’s his wedding day. I’d be pretty peeved if my photos (and my wedding) were treated in this way. Is nothing sacred anymore?
Donna Newman is an excellent photographer and Rush Limbaugh is a wonderful man and his bride a lovely woman. For those idiots at Vanity Fair, how about a thorough background check on all of the weddings of all of the celebs and people and comment on them. It is a shame that a man and two women of honor must be reduced to an idiot’s criques. Given the coverage of Donna Newman and the audience of Limbaugh’s 20 millions readers, she will roll in the dough! Simply put, the critics, and the rest just want to sell the dumb magazines (who reads them anyway?). We would much rather listen to the folks at PPA and reputable mags and photography experts then those who cannot make it without an idiot critique.

I hope you weren’t referring to us here.
I was agreeing with you that the Vanity Fair humor article was a waste aka “dreck”. I think Donna did a great job even and though I’m not a fan of Rush I can appreciate humor for the sake of humor. But Vanity Fair needs to hire some new writers. If they are going to poke fun at Rush there are better, more comical ways to do it. Their jokes came off as if a jealous ex-wife wrote it not someone at… let’s say… the onion.
Thanks Mark. Love PPA and DWF which has lots of savvy smart business folks and do not let their politics get in the way of smart thinking, business and their relationship with their readers, followers and clients. God forbid that we should have to agree with everything that our clients profess but rather that we as professionals act “professionally” and treat all the same, i.e., not with discrimination of politics or for any other reason. We are professional photographers and so is Donna Newman and she deserves everyone’s respect and admiration for a job well done and yes, for nabbing a very lucrative client. Perhaps Vanity Fair is a little jealous since they did not “nab” the “first photos”! An excellent point –They most assuredly need new writers who serve all people and then maybe they will sell more mags and get out of the red.
Not a Rush fan myself but the photos are beautiful and she made him look good. I have to admit these are the first Celebrity Wedding photos I have seen in the past year that I thought were genuinely unique.
Nice images!
However Rush is in it for the $$$$$$$…..
He is an entertainer, his role is as a troll.
Without controversy, he’d be unknown.
I’m sure the VF piece will be present business opportunities for the photographer.
However there is nothing wrong with turning done jobs with clients one does not wish to work with for personal reasons. I’ve turned down commercial work with the tobacco industry several times. Would do the same with certain other corporations as well. Not sure how I would feel about shooting family images for individuals I don’t respect.
Excellent work…..Rush sucks.
