Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run blah blah and hurt you! Is that Rick Astley on your iPhone or are you just hoping Air Jordan’s, leg warmers, skinny ties and mesh shirts are coming back in style.
Sophos reports (see their image above) that an Australian hacker has written a worm that can change your wallpaper to a picture of Rick Astley. No people, I’m not making it up! The worm only affects jailbroken iPhones and can be avoided by:
- NOT jailbreaking your iPhone – DUH!
- Turnning off SSH when you’re not using it – DUH!
- Changing your defaulat SSH password -DUH!
A good reminder that Apple does do a good job at keeping their OSes secure and that by messing with their software (aka jailbreaking) we are opening ourselves up to vulnerability. Stay safe people stay safe!
