Yesterday evening, a wonderful couple, Tim and Shannon came into our studio to proof their album design. They chose a wonderful rich leather for their 10×14 inch album. They were married in the hotel where they first met. I was unable to shoot with Kevin on this wedding, but Kevin stepped up and created two very wonderful portraits of the couple.
When designing the album, I quickly saw that the posing and the direction of their gazes had something classic about it. It reminded me of a 1950′s movie, something out of a nightclub. I made the choice to turn both photos into BW.

During the consultation, they both wanted to see the design in color. After showing them the color version, they agreed that the BW captured the moment together. As photographers, we can make great decisions for our clients by just going with our gut feelings. Don’t be afraid to follow your instincts. When you have your clients’ best interest in mind, they will, more often than not, agree with you.
The above design was made with the Fundy Album Builder, the BW was applied on import from our a BW action. A 14 Day free trial of the Album Builder is available here.
