Over on the forums, there’s some chatter that the serial license server for Lightroom 3 isn’t serving up serial numbers.
Neil van Niekerk was one of the first to notice that the email saying “here’s your serial number” didn’t actually contain a serial number. And when he logged into Adobe to check his account, it said “contact customer support” where the serial number should be.
The Adobe support forum suggests the problem should be solved in the next day or two.
It’s not a universal problem, but enough people are complaining about it to make a fairly active thread. DWFer Michael Caswell quips “I guess this whole newfangled “selling software over the internet” thing is still being ironed out”

The best part is this: Today, Adobe’s website was updated with my serial number, but LR3 doesn’t recognize it as a valid number. Have to just laugh. It’s a great piece of software, but Adobe seems to be really, incredibly bad at the whole e-commerce thing.
I agree that adobe’s software development is better than it’s store presence.
The next day I found my correct license. You have to put both your 2 license AND your 3 license in if you are upgrading.
Really, really odd. It worked today. I entered that serial several times on the 9th when I posted, and it rejected them. Hmmm…
Anyway, thanks!
