If I had to guess I’d say your average wedding photographer is a fairly healthy individual, moderately active, and frequently exposed to large and varied groups of people. Sounds like a recipe for H1N1.
Maybe there isn’t cause for mass hysteria, but have you thought about what it would mean to your business if you contract the virus? There has been talk on the DWF about the flu, the CDC and some what-would-you-do’s. The CDC recommends that if you do get this flu you should stay home. ” Staying at home means that you should not leave your home except to seek medical care. This means avoiding normal activities, including work, school, travel, shopping, social events, and public gatherings.”
Yikes! Difficult for the show must go on lifestyle of the photographer.
Regardless of where you stand on the panic factor a Plan B is a great thing to have, just in case. Emergencies are much easier to deal with if you aren’t scrambling around wondering what to do, whether to find a replacement, or how to issue the refund check with out spreading the virus further. That’s true whether it’s the swine flu, bird flu, SARS, or a broken leg.
For a peak at what “they” would do visit the DWF discussion. For a peek at what the CDC says you should do visit their H1N1 site.
