Student Photographers

You knew that the soccer mom next door was your competition, but did you ever think you’d be competing with 12 year olds?

Relax.  You’re not.  But..

At Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee, a charter school authorized by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, students are studying all aspects of business.  The kids learn by doing. The business they have chosen to operate is a photography business providing coverage services for local events.  Students do everything from grant writing for capital to purchase equipment to appointment setting. Click-Em Photography gets paid for it’s services and all earnings go back into the program to pay for field trips and the like. Some local pros have given their assistance to the school by helping the kids with their skills.

This program is either an inspired idea for teaching kids about business in the real world or proof that anyone really can run a photography business. The good news for wedding togs is that the school has been requested to photograph a wedding, but decided that they weren’t up to that challenge. The wisdom of children.
