I’ve been using a CameraSlinger for over a year, and wouldn’t leave home without out (when doing a wedding). Yeah, the bolts aren’t the best, but the whole point of this gear is that you don’t have to put your cameras on the ground anymore! You should adjust your straps so that when in the kneeling position, your camera/lens doesn’t touch the ground.

I’ve always used two cameras, with different lenses fitted, so I didn’t have to switch lens on one body and waste time. The sling system stays firmly in place on my back, and Paul, I use it under my suit jacket when the weather isn’t the best (which is common in my neck of the woods).

The system is expensive for what it is (£125), plus I felt I had to buy two Calumet detachable slings for quick unclipping when I was using the double sling. I know you can use the CameraSlinger as an individual strap, but I’m fond of the Calumet ones now, they’re springy

Overall, a great system! Worth every single penny, as I don’t have one single niggle in my back or neck after doing a 12 hour wedding shoot. A must for any pro!

I did the same as you Andrew. I used to have the hand straps but couldnt ever lay them down flat when needed. Doesnt look great over the top of my suit though!

I just recently bought the camera slinger above. I must agree, the bolts on the bottom of the camera are not the best. I exchanged them for the flat manfrotto plates that came with my tripods allowing me to set my cameras down flat when needed. The harness is a bit hard to adjust, and in my opinion could use one more horizontal strap across the front to keep things absolutely still. It did save my back and neck compared to regular straps. I’d give it an 8 out of 10.

Tried one out this weekend and it was easier carrying the cameras – only issue was not being easiy laying cameras down as the eye bolts stick out of the camera base.
