Plop your ad right into news feed posts.

Love this idea…keep in mind though it won’t be in the news feed, rather off to the side like other ads.
Mike I see what you mean. I was confused by these screenshots. It seems to show them inline.

Yea, that is misleading! It was the first thing I checked because that would be really bad for advertisers if the ads were inline. There would be a ton of junk clicks.
Mark I am surprised, you actually like this?
I am sorry but if you are going to use my words to advertise you damned well better be in a legally binding contract with me as your spokesperson, and I damned well better be getting remunerated for it.
but if this is cool with you then form now on when you post I will simply add in “Sponsored by KY Jelly, the best butt lube money can buy”. I am sure that wont be a problem for you.
Come on man, think this through, I know you are a solid guy, there is no way you can think this is a good idea.
James…
The purpose is to better promote yourself. If you watch their example, starbucks ads show when starbucks is mentioned or there is a starbucks check-in. Makes perfect sense.
I’m certainly not going to go buy ads to appear when bestlittlestudioshows up.
It really is a good thing, allowing you to enhance word of mouth is awesome.

Something about it just feels off to me, I understand the direction they are trying to push it, but I cannot help but feel as if what was once a personable “wow this new mocha frap is great” sounds just fine, until you put a sponsored by logo under it, at which point it becomes simple advertising and I skim right over it.
Holy run on sentence batman.
James,
I agree with you. Online advertising with targeted ads, and now personalized from people’s direct experience in the world feels CREEPER to me. Even if it will allow the opportunity for some effective marketing I don’t care for the mindscape created in our societies by this type advertising.
Corporations (with vested self interest) creating our culture is too 1984 -even as conscious meta-reference. I find this especially CREEPY from a privacy pov, with the advent of social networks, and the illusion of connectedness. I prefer seeing our cultures developing from the bottom up. More tangible expression from society as a whole – less from business directly involved with the creation of the culture for their own profit.
