Today is September 1st and that means lesbian and gay couples may now legally marry in the state of Vermont. It appears though that any wedding vendors expecting a BOOM will be thoroughly disappointed as there have been only a small number of licenses issued so far according to the AP’s John Curran.
In Manchester, a southern Vermont town whose picturesque old buildings, mountain vistas and upscale shopping make it a wedding destination (there were 101 last year), no gay couples have plunked down the $45 fee for the marriage licenses, which are good for 60 days from the date of issue.
The same is true in other cities as well as the largest (Burlington) who has only issued 3 licenses thus far. So much for the gay marriage windfall?

I just think that just because the same sex marriage was approved that they should be expecting much due to this. We all understand marriage is something thought of and not played at when we want to do it and if not break it after.
