The Queen of the DWF (no really she was voted Queen last year) Petra Hall shares with us a rather unique studio session. Petra describes it in her own words…
The first set of images, with the Marie Antoinette theme was all the works of the creator of the clothes, Emelie Lundberg that made them and came up with the looks for the girls in white and pink. It was pretty simple to shoot, the clothes and the style told the story, I think. The hair and makeup paired with the outfits made it all soo easy to shot.
The feeling we wanted was a bit decadent. Marie Antoinette had no worries i the world in her time. Maybe that’s why she ended up beheaded in the end, as the French people were starving while she lived the high life in her castle.

For the other set, with the pinups, the inspiration came from a great website called http://www.thepinupfiles.com/ where they have a lot of different artists with painted pinup images.
The clothes my model brought was not the typical “pinup” of the 40′s or 50′s, but as we had to stay in the studio instead of shooting outside, these slimmed outfits worked much better for the post processing I did (which was inspired by Robert Alvarado but with my own twist to it).
I wanted flirty and fun images, and there’s more to come, once we get to do some more shoots (mainly outdoors). I will shoot another session with the same model later as she has probably 40 outfits in total to play with, so we hope to do more of this, and explore the old pinups even more. Mostly dressed, with a wink in the eye, and a bit of hiked up skirts.
