Oktrends, the official blog of OKcupid, has just conducted a photography experiment of sorts using their members opinions on “What makes a Great Photo?” along with the EXIF info from half a million photos on their site.
The Skinny (details):
- they compiled 552,000 user photos
- they paired them up and ask people to answer questions
- they did the math
- they made the graphs
The Results:
People shot with Canon DSLRs are more attractive than people shot with Nikons. Sorry Nikon users you can’t argue with the numbers.
Oh and iPhone users have on average, more sexual partners than Android and Blackberry users. Take that Android fanboys and stick it in your. Oh who are we kidding you guys aren’t sticking it anywhere. LOL! (only a joke don’t send me hatemail)
But seriously beyond all of that there is some interesting data that might be of use to photographers. Peak time of day for best photos, flash vs natural light, depth of field. Be sure to click over and have a look.
