How you’d like your shot at fame and fortune, and all the trappings that come with it, such as women…or men, or women and men, or pets, or inanimate objects with high cash value? Then photographic competitions might be for you.

Here’s a new one that just started accepting entries, the Levori International Photography Competition, one of the few I’ve seen with a decent amount of prize money ($3,000-$6,000 for the highest scoring images depending on category).

In the “no money but looks cool and earns you shiny medals and things” department, the Professional Photographers of America have just chosen the images from this year’s International Print Competition that will be accepted into the Loan Collection. So, if you want to see “the best of the best” either order a copy of the Loan Collection book, or stop by the Imaging USA tradeshow in Nashville in January. Coincidentally, you get a free pass to the IUSA tradeshow with your DWF Convention registration.

And if you’d like to keep tabs on what photography competitions are available for you to enter at any given time, subscribe to photocompete.com.
