The original version of Aperture had my attention for about an hour before I removed it from my system. But (there is always a but isn’t there) I have to admit this new V3 has me rethinking my opinion of the program. I might just have to grab a trial copy just to see what it’s like. Especially given the fact that they now have ALBUM COMPANY PLUGINS like this one from Queensberry.
Want some details? Here’s the Press Release:

This would be much better news if the fine people at Queensberry, were indeed fine people. I don’t want to deal with them ever again…
Talk about the exact other side of the world! Who wants to pay for shipping of albums that nearly circumnavigate the globe? I guess they’re great for Aussies, New Zealanders, and maybe east Asia, but who wants that kind of overhead in their product?
They also have plug-ins for Leathercraftsmen, Graphi, and Couture. I’m sure other companies will be jumping onboard.
As Mark noted, there are options for other companies like Leather Craftsman. The software release is a pretty big deal in my view. Not only are the local adjustments non-destructive, butit seems every adjustment can be applied in that way – recovery or vignetts, etc. Plus the file managment is much more robust – the merge library feature seems to make working on the same files on two different machines (laptop-desktop) easy. The ability to edit video and audio with stills also looks cool. I’m on a blackberry, or I’d provide the link but go to Apple and check out the short videos by Chase Jarvis, Jim Richardson and others… From memory, I think it’s http://www.apple.com/aperture/in-action
Hi Paul, sorry if you’ve had a bad experience with us. We can’t find any record of you in our database and your twitter address is anonymous – if you want to get in touch with us, as always we’ll do our best to put things right.
Hi Dan, we deliver worldwide, with our biggest markets North America and the UK. Our album prices are all freight-inclusive. If you register on our website we’ll send you details. Cheers, Ian
Lets hope the Aperture plug in system is easy enough that ALL the album companies will come on board soon!
