California College of the Arts student Erin Fong has churned out this radical new design for the DSLR. I’ve gotta say that I find the concept rather intriguing though I’m sure it would require image stabilization. But as this Design Boom article states…
the design aims to explore the form of the camera now that it isn’t dictated by the conventions of film.

Interesting… but it would certainly be a little hard to get use to it. Since photography is different today including video capture as well as still images, it can be wise to explore different venue on camera designs.
While I welcome different ideas to make holding an SLR more efficient and comfortable, this design doesn’t make any sense to me. How are you supposed to hold this? hands on the ‘wings’? weird.
