Ritz Camera the retail chain may be the latest victim of changing industry + changing economy. Since filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February the company has been attempting a reorganization. Already 400 stores have been closed and negotiations are in process with two bidders to take over the remaining 370. The auction will take place July 20, with a liquidation to take place by July 24th if neccessary.
Ritz Camera started as a portrait studio 91 years ago and was a pioneer of the 1 hour photo processing service, but the switch to digital technology had lead photographers to print fewer images. So another company goes the way of the Polariod.

maybe if they lower their printing prices, maybe they get more bussines if to expensive the printing there so i went and buy the epson 3800 no i see some money in my pocket.
To comment on the people out there that think that Ritz should lower there prices on printing:yes you can get prints cheaper but are they better did you know that most people just run them through the machine and not care about how the pictures come out? Pictures say a thousand words and sometime they are leave your without words and Ritz Camera you get your pictures done by someone that cares about how your pictures come out and if you ever have a problem Ritz Camera takes care of it with no attitude problems!In todays world people are hurting so people need to spend less on certain things and people buy things of less quality but if you are taking a picture of someone you love or something you want to remember Let’s hope Ritz Camera will be around for all your camera needs!
PS: You can get a discount card that lets you save tons of money and on Tue.and Wed. certain size prints are only .6 each.
