One of the awesome things, ok the only awesome thing about working at a computer most of the time is that when the email comes in, when the contest gets posted, when the product gets launched you are there to swoop in and get it. That’s how I get my free stuff. In March I went to WPPI courtesy of a free pass I won from Finao, I have an RS-W1 that I won on Photo Sister, and this week I got a free pass to the WPPI Road Trip in Sacramento courtesy of Asuka Book.
When going to a day long seminar like WPPI Road Trip you must keep in mind that one speaker will say something, the next speaker will contradict it. Film is dead, film is not dead. Fusions is pointless, Fusion is the best thing that has happened since the camera obscura. Some speakers will drop tasty morsels such as “get all the good shots you can,” (yes, he really said that), other speakers will inspire you to explore a whole new world you never considered. They have a fun little trade show where you can pick up your registration fees worth of coupons, savings, and giveaways. There were door prizes and raffles, and some of the speakers gave away prizes.
On balance I think it would have been worth the drive and price of admission (if I had paid), AND it includes free registration to WPPI in Vegas. Besides you might win a big prize. I did.
There are 8 cities left. Visit the WPPI Road Trip website if you want to go.
