If you’re running OSX you know the drill. Plug in your camera and iPhoto opens, plug in your card reader and iPhoto opens, etc etc etc…
Well no more! This amazing little piece of FREE software from Flexibits gives you complete control over what happens when you plug an imaging device into your Mac. Want Lightroom to open when you plug in your card reader? It’ll do that. Want to open image capture when you plug in a camera. It’ll do that too. Let’s not forget the ever popular “DO NOTHING” you silly computer I’m capable of thinking on my own option.
Best of all, it’s FREE!

or you could just open image capture and change your preferences there …
Image capture controls what opens when a card/camera is connected.
Loring does Image Capture allow you to make those adjustments on a per camera basis thought? Your iPhone can do one thing, your point and shoot another and your DSLR a 3rd etc?
I don’t believe it does – I have it set to do nothing – I prefer to open whatever programs manually anyways. Mostly I use aperture. Occasionally I will just copy the files to the disk. It is more of a usage thing than a peripheral thing. ie. All my images from my DSLR do not necessarily go through aperture, and all P&S images do not necessarily go to iphoto or whatever.
If I shoot a quick jpg for ebay – I copy to the hard drive. Raws go through aperture…
