Oh wait! it is made of gold. To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Peoples’ Republic of China, Leica has created a limited run of (60) MP Golden Limited Edition cameras which will price out at roughly $29,000 US. To be fair to Leica, that over the top price does include a very nice wooden box, an etching of tiananmen square and a Leica Summilux-M 50mm 1.4 in matching gold.
But let’s get serious for a moment here. A black lens cap on a GOLD camera? I’m thinking Leica might have phoned this one in. (I wanted to say half-assed but I didn’t want to offend any Leica fanboys) Oops!
