Move over plungercam here comes plungercam version 2.0! Bhautik Joshi is a research engineer for Industrial Light and Magic and in his spare time he makes his very own DSLR tiltshift lenses.
In true MacGyver fashion and in the spirit of making something freaking cool for cheap Bhautik has this to say about his design…
Plungercam 2 keeps in the spirit of the original plungercam by using cheap plumbing equipment and affixing it to precision optics. This iteration eliminates the need for glue altogether, so all the optical components can be easily taken out and re-used elsewhere.
There is a very clear and easy to follow step by step guide on Bhautik’s blog and a super cool video created using his lens experiment on flickr. I’m so impressed that I might just make a trip to the hardware store today.
