Bouquet toss. Check! Garter toss. Check! Camera toss…. wait WTF!?!?
That’s right I said camera toss. The first time I heard of this technique being used at a wedding I was standing beside a guy named Mike Larson, who it turns out is widely known to everyone outside my bubble as…
That guy who throws his camera in the air at weddings!
He also known for wearing hats (that’s him in the middle above) but that’s a not important right now. Camera tossing, I’m told, is not a new technique and it’s quite easy to do if you can stomach the butterflies as you toss thousands of breakable dollars fluttering about into the air above your paying wedding clients heads.
Ready to throw caution and your equipment to the wind like Mike at your next wedding? If you’ve got the balls Ryan Gallagher of the Camera Toss blog has the instructions. Happy landings!

OMG…I think I will pass for awhile! But more power to him!
I’ll have to try this at my wedding this weekend.
Can I just use a disposable camera?
LeeAnn I wish I could find a disposable with a timer on it.
Mike did an interview on F-Stop beyond a few months ago where he talks about the whys. Interesting listen.
Great idea – too risky! One “oops” = $4,000.00! Unless I buy a Canon Rebel… Hmmmm….
