Ok if you’re not familiar with Improv Everywhere they are group of like minded people who enjoy causing scenes in public places. Amongst their “Missions” are no underwear subway rides and a re-enactment of a scene from Ghost Busters inside the NYC public library.
This is where it gets wedding related I promise. The group staged a surprise wedding reception for a random couple outside of the City Clerks Office in Manhattan. Upon exchanging vows the unsuspecting couple was greeted at the door by someone promising them a reception, right then and there complete with until then absent bridesmaids and gifts. SCORE!
The day after improv everywhere received this email from the bride and groom…
Whatever becomes of our “scene” we just wanted to say thanks because it was freakin’ hilarious. The most important thing for us is that you gave us just about the best wedding story anyone could have to pass on. Take good care.
