Underwater housings are Expensive with a capital E. So with the iPhone 3Gs rocking a new and rather useful camera, could this pouch from Sanwa place an underwater photography housing within reach?

The ouch appears to allow full control of the iPhone via touchscreen but alas as I cannot read Chinese ( I’m assuming it’s Chinese) so I can’t feed you all the useful specs. I can tell you that DVICE is quoting the street price as being just $34 and for that price it might be worth grabbing before I take my next kayak trip.

Chase Jarvis would love this. No more taking a bath without his iPhone. As he says, the best camera in the world is the one you have with you all the time.
Great product!

Hey Mark,
How much do you love your iPhone? Let me tell you — I’ve seen bags with similar closures for storing other valuables, and if you’re *lucky*, they’re “splashproof.”
There’s a very good reason that housings cost so much — it’s because they work *most* of the time.
Here’s a full-on housing for the entire iPod line: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-246/131259/H2O-Audio-iDive-Underwater-Apple-iPod-MP3-Housing.html
Of course, you’ll have trouble hitting the touchscreen with that!
