Sure, we’ve talked about it before, but now we’ve got numbers! And interesting ones, too. The Wedding Report has released their findings from their Q2 wedding survey, and while we were all expecting that brides would spend less on their weddings these days given the current economic meltdown, the size and quickness of the change is surprising.

Between the first and second quarter of 2009, the average cost of a wedding dropped by 14%. That means that during what many of us in the south consider peak wedding season (April, May, and June) brides spent significantly less than they did during the traditional off season of January, February, and March.

Early July numbers suggest a leveling off, so the end could be in sight.
